European Adaptive Carp Championships To Host First Ever Event

You might have heard of the British Carp Angling Championships or the World Carp Classic, but have you heard of the European Adaptive Carp Championships?

Probably not!

And that’s because for the first time ever, The European Adaptive Carp Championships will be held at Linear Fisheries in Oxfordshire.

The event is new to the world of competition carping, designed to allow disabled carpers the ability to showcase their talents on the biggest stage. – Something that has never previously been possible.

European Adaptive Carp Championships

What you can expect is an event modelled off the framework used for such prestigious events like the World Carp Classic, but scaled back to be more accessible to people with physical disabilities.

Whilst we are seeing more inclusive venues up and down the country, there is still plenty of work to be done to allow people with disabilities to fully enjoy our sport. We’re delighted to see the launch of the European Adaptive Carp Championships, as it is only a good thing for our sport.

When is the European Adaptive Carp Championships?

The event will take place from 4th-6th August 2023.

It will be held at Linear Fisheries in Oxfordshire, with the event taking up the full Oxlease lake for the weekend. Competitors will fish for the full 48 hours, with prizes for overall weight 1st/2nd/3rd and for biggest and smallest fish.

How many teams will compete and how do you get involved?

It is estimated that up to 40 teams will be in attendance, with participants from all across Europe battling out for the title.

You need to have a physical disability to be eligible for the event, and there’s an entry fee of £75 per person (£150 per competition pair).

If you would like to get involved, you can do so by emailing The European Adaptive Carp Championships here.

Alternatively, you can join their Facebook group where members of the team are regularly answering questions and providing updates on the event.

What else is happening during the event?

You’d be mistaken to think that is will be purely competition fishing for the weekend.

There will be plenty more for you to get involved with too.

On the Saturday afternoon, there is a social event with food and drinks, giving anglers the ability to have a chat and get to know each other.

There will also be a trade village with numerous tackle and bait brands in attendance, providing goodies to the participants. We already know that the likes of Parker Baits, CC Moore and Pallatrax will be in attendance with stalls during the event.

And if that’s not enough, we expect a few top carp anglers to be in attendance, passing on their knowledge on how to target Linear Fisheries.
